This bothered me so much that I had to post about it. The iPhone 3G is pretty slow on the new OS from Apple. Everything takes forever to start and sometimes apps just crash. Well I finally figured out a workaround. Sad as it may seem, I stopped using the mail app. By removing all the mail accounts from the mail app, it doesn’t automatically start (and stay) in the background which releases a good bit of memory for the other apps to start up faster or even at all. Good gracious! Everything opens fast now! How sad is that? Now I won’t get automatic notifications about my email accounts. But then again, it wasn’t working either. I would have to open the mail app or reboot my phone just to get it to update anyway. So what good is that?
